Registering an Antique or Custom Car in North Carolina

Antique Vehicle Registration

North Carolina offers antique license plates for horseless carriages, vehicles that are at least 50 years old. To register a vehicle as an antique, you must first visit an NCDMV license plate agency.

Custom Car Registration

Custom license plates are also available for classic cars that meet certain criteria. These plates can be personalized for an additional fee and can be ordered online or through the mail.
